Gene-specific markers implemented in genotyping array for potato, apple and tomato

Various methods for genotyping have been explored by project partners in WP3 and different genotyping arrays have been implemented for three species (potato, apple and tomato) which reflect the state of art in genotyping technologies for each crop.

Through this exercise, it was concluded that trait-specific molecular markers are useful tools for characterizing DUS traits in potato, tomato, and apple plants. Markers have been implemented in genotyping arrays, which are low-cost and allow for high-throughput analysis. These arrays can now be used for validation by Evaluation Offices within the INVITE project.
